Cookies as Wedding Souvenier

Last April, my sister got married, and she asked me to make cookies for her wedding souvenier.

It was packaged in a Bamboo box, and wrapped with pink tulle and pink ribbons.

Chocolate Cupcakes

This morning, while I was sleeping. My nephew came into my room and asked for a chocolate.
Half asleep, I told him that I will find some chocolate and give it to him. Then he said that he wanted chocolate cake..

So here's the chocolate cupcake (rather than baking a large cake, might as well make 39 cupcakes) I managed to bake in the morning.

Rafa's 3rd Birthday

Made this Ice Age 3 themed cake for my cute little nephew. He's 3 years old. He lOVES dinosaur and he loved ice age. Everytime he wanted to watch Ice Age 3, he says this:

"Kuku(me), Fafa(nephew) wants to watch shakala boom boom (the soundtrack on the main menu)"

His mother got this toys from McDonald Happy Meal. She only got the Mummy Dino, Buck, Rudy and Mannie.
This is chocolate cake with dark chocolate frosting with chocolate sprinkle, the bottom layer was covered with dark chocolate frosting, which should resemble the jungle. Unfortunately I forgot to bring the tree decoration. I made this cake in my house and brought the cake to the place where we are having a vacation, which is 1.5 hours away.

The top layer was covered with white royal icing.
The trees that were on the top layer of the cake is real. I picked it from a huge tree, washed it and dried it, and stuck it on the cake.


Before the celebration, I went to the zoo, so here's some giraffe and hippo lovin!

Lebaran Banana Cake Fiesta!

The time has come. I have to bake about 90 banana cake in one day! I went home from campus around 2pm and started baking until midnight.. my poor back and my sleepy eyes. Anyway, I finished!! HOORAY!

I would not finish those without the help of my sisters, my mum and my other helpers.

I don't have a free-standing mixer AKA Kitchen Aid.. i wish i have one of those. I do have 4 hand mixer, from vintage to the present time. about 5 mixing bowls, a hugeee basket of banana and eggs waiting to be mashed and separated, a bucket of flour, sugar and butter.

By midnight, I smell like banana, butter, sugar and flour at once. my black kitchen top is now white from the flour.

I think i might need a new oven that can fit more than 1 tray at a time.. and a free-standing mixer..

NB: my mum has the magic fingers in wrapping those banana cakes.

Birthday Cupcakes - Yellow and Pink

In the midst of the busy baking for Lebaran (this will be my next post), I still managed to decorate these Oreo Cupcakes for a friend of mine. She wanted to order cupcakes for her sister's birthday.

She told me she doesn't want blue or green, so I'm using pink, yellow and white. all summery colours. Well, in Jakarta, everyday is Summer.

Miguel Chendekiawan One Month Package

About a month ago, a new customer called me up and asked me about 1 month packages. She found out about my one month packages from my previous customer.

This is the list of the items in the box:
Red Eggs
Kue Angku
Chocolate chip cookies
2 Banana cupcakes (yellow base)
2 Oreo Cupcakes (green base)


With these cupcakes, I finally had the chance to use my Patchwork Cutter on the cupcakes. The result are so cute and simple.

Busy busy busy September

Just when I thought I can take a breath, just sit down, relax and catch up on my long need break... The thoughts that were on my head was.. "One month Package.. Lebaran.. Birthday Cupcakes.." I am resting physically but it is impossible for me to rest mentally when I have so many to do list.

Well, I am tired, but I'm happy with my work. So it's all worth it

I will be posting a lot more these days.

Tini's Birthday Cupcakes for her Mom

During all that business of Lebaran baking fiesta, I'm still able to squeeze a birthday cupcake order from Tini. She was referred to me from a friend of mine, Renita.

She wanted a colourful cupcakes for her mother. Tini also gave me some picture on how she wants the cupcakes to look like. It was pretty simple and quite similiar to the ones that I did.

Based on her response when she picked it up, I guess she likes it :)

Lebaran Special 2

This month Noni's kitchen have been very busy preparing packages for Lebaran. This is some of the packages that I did

The first picture was a combination of Chocolate Chip Cookies, Lidah Kucing, Coconut Chip, Putri Salju and Meringue Kisses. The cookies packed in a plastic cylinder and stacked into a pyramid then wrapped in plastic and pretty ribbons and ketupat

The second picture was a combination of Chocolate Chip Cookies and Lidah Kucing. These cookies are packed in a glass jar. it's very sturdy and re-usable, they are placed in a "besek", handmade basket from dried leaf.

Back from Holiday Gifts

I had about 1.5 months holiday from my daily routine, and when it is time to come back, I made some treats for my dear friends.

Just a simple banana cake wrapped in plastic and decorated with a pretty ribbon and a jar of chocolate chip cookies.

Noni's Kitchen is accepting orders for Lebaran cookies.

I have 7 types of cookies to choose from:
- Chocolate Chip cookies (Favourite)
- Lidah Kucing (Cat's Tounge sounds weird)
- Putri Salju (Snow Princess)
- Kaastengels
- Meringue Kisses
- Spritz Cookies
- Coconut Chip

Pictures of the first 5 are posted above, my spritz cookies and coconut chip are already gone once they came out of the oven, it was getting late to bake more cookies.

Here's a little description of the cookies

Chocolate Chip Cookies:
Melt in your mouth, generously mixed with chocolate chips.

Lidah Kucing:
Crunchy, and simple cookies. Try eating this cookies while watching TV, it will be gone without you knowing it. It's just tongue wagging GOOD

Putri Salju:
Butter cookies with crushed cashews and rolled (more likely, shaked) on fine sugar. These cookies were rolled on the sugar as soon as they came out from the oven, while its still warm, so the cookies are nicely coated with the sugar. It's sinfully delicious.

Kaastengels:
Cheese cookies, with shredded cheddar on top. Savoury cookies for those who doesn't like sweet things

Meringue Kisses:
Melt in your mouth kisses. Powdery bittersweet and tastes so good with melted chocolate and some strawberries.

Spritz Cookies:
This cookies are great for Seasonal Celebration, the colours can be changed for each celebration. I made these cookies to be Green. These cookies are very rich and addictive

Coconut Chip:
These cookies are delightful!! Everyone has heard of potato chip, well this one is coconut. it is thin, crispy and very very tasty.
I made 3 batch of these cookies, and somehow it disappeared before I can take the pictures.
My dad lovess this cookies. I made one following his preference - slightly burned - , and he loves it.
